Welcome to Modam! These guidelines support a fair, safe, and creative community for artists and collectors. By selling on Modam, you agree to follow the Rules below. Tips are suggestions only — they are not contractual obligations unless the same requirement appears in the Terms of Service.
Rules = requirements Modam may enforce (warnings, removal, suspension, or termination). Tips = optional ideas for presentation and growth; we do not treat them as binding seller duties.

Authenticity & Originality
Do
- Upload only YOUR original work
- Create all elements yourself
- Disclose AI assistance if used
- Own full rights to the work
Don't
- Copy other artists' work
- Use copyrighted images
- Claim AI art as handmade
- Steal or plagiarize
Secondary Market & Resale
Resale is Allowed. Collectors may freely resell artworks they own. Professional resellers are welcome. Active secondary market increases artwork value. Honest disclosure of resale status is encouraged.
Prohibited Resale Practices: Selling counterfeit copies, coordinated price manipulation, buying from yourself to inflate market, selling stolen artwork, or misrepresenting provenance.
Photo Quality Standards
High-quality photos sell better. Minimum 1000×1000 pixels (1500×1500 recommended). Well-lit, sharp images with accurate colors. Multiple views for 3D work and sculptures. Show scale with room shots or measurements.
Prohibited in Photos: Blurry or pixelated images, heavy filters that distort colors, watermarks covering the artwork, photos of screens.

- Exaggerate size or quality
- Hide damage or flaws
- Use deceptive pricing
- Fake scarcity tactics
Rules — prohibited content
The following content will result in immediate removal and possible account suspension:
- Illegal Content: Anything violating local or international law
- Child Exploitation: Any content involving minors inappropriately
- Violence/Gore: Extremely graphic violent imagery
- Hate Symbols: Nazi imagery, hate group symbols, discriminatory content
- Pornography: Explicit sexual content (artistic nudity may be allowed with proper tagging)
Requires Careful Handling
- Artistic Nudity: Tag appropriately, must be tasteful and artistic
- Political Art: Allowed but must not incite violence or hatred
- Religious Content: Respectful treatment of all religions
Rules — transaction conduct
Communication Standards
- Response time: Reply to buyer inquiries promptly — within 24 hours when possible for pre-sale questions
- Professional tone: Courteous, helpful, and clear
- Transparency: Be upfront about shipping times and policies
Contact information & off-platform diversion
- Before a valid Modam checkout: Do not solicit buyers to pay outside the app, and do not share personal contact details (phone, personal email, messenger handles, payment IDs, etc.) primarily to move the transaction off Modam or to evade platform checkout.
- After a valid paid order exists: You may exchange logistics contact details that are reasonably necessary for fulfillment (e.g. phone for courier, localized address clarifications), preferably through Modam chat when possible. Keep such use limited to completing that order.
Prohibited: Harassment, threats, or abuse; asking for payment outside Modam checkout; using Modam chat mainly to divert sales or fees off-platform; spam or unsolicited advertising unrelated to a genuine buyer inquiry.
Shipping Excellence
- Confirm & ship: After payment, confirm the order, then ship within 5 business days (or as agreed with the buyer)
- Pack Professionally to prevent damage
- Carrier & tracking in Modam: In your sale order detail, enter the courier name and tracking number once you have shipped — buyers rely on this to track delivery
- Communicate Delays immediately if any issues arise
Rules — community participation
Modam's community forum is a space for artists and collectors to share ideas, showcase work, and discuss topics across categories: Art, Daily Life, Finance, Showcase, Free Topic, and Issue Discussion.
Community content rules
Do
- Use relevant categories for posts
- Keep discussions respectful
- Credit others when referencing their work
- Report inappropriate content
Don't
- Spam or post repetitive content
- Harass or demean other users
- Post misleading or false information
- Solicit off-platform transactions
Violations in the community are subject to the same consequence system as marketplace violations — repeated offenses can result in account suspension.

3rd Violation or Serious Offense: Permanent account termination. No appeal for serious violations. Payment hold up to 90 days for existing orders.

The following sections are recommendations. They do not create enforceable duties or guarantees about visibility, ranking, or sales.
Build a strong profile
- Complete Bio: Tell your artistic story (150–300 words)
- Professional Photo: Clear headshot or studio photo
- Artist Statement: Share your inspiration and process
- Regular Updates: Keep profile current with latest work
Visibility, community, and buyers
- Post regularly: Steady new listings can help collectors discover your work.
- Join challenges: Participate when available to connect with the community.
- Forum ideas: Share process or WIP posts, join Issue Discussion / Free Topic threads, use Showcase and link to listings — all optional.
- Engage: Comment and support others in a genuine way.
- Respond to buyers: Timely, clear replies often improve trust and completion of sales. Modam does not promise any particular search placement, ranking, or algorithmic boost from response speed.
Optional fulfillment touches
- Some sellers add a thank-you note or certificate — entirely optional.

- Start Competitive: Research similar artists' pricing
- Build Gradually: Raise prices as your following grows
- Limited Editions command higher prices
- Offer Range: Both affordable and premium pieces
