This policy outlines what happens to your personal data when you choose to delete your Modam account.
1. How to Request Deletion
You can delete your account directly inside the Modam app by navigating to Profile → Settings → Account Management → Delete Account. You may also email a deletion request to modamceo2026@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account.
2. What Happens Upon Deletion
- Immediate Action: Your public profile, artwork listings, and identifiable community posts will be removed or hidden from the active Modam application. You will be signed out of your devices.
- Database Purge: Within approximately 30 days, we irreversibly delete or anonymize your standard user profile data in our primary active databases.
- Backups: Residual copies of your data may temporarily persist in encrypted backups, which are overwritten on a rolling cycle (usually within 90 days).
3. Data Retained for Legal and Security Reasons
Please note that deleting your account does not automatically erase data that we are legally required to keep. We may retain certain data after account deletion, including:
- Transaction and Tax Records: Data related to payments, sales, and purchases may be stored in restricted ledgers to comply with global tax and commercial accounting laws.
- Stripe Payment Data: Modam's payment processor, Stripe, retains financial data under their own strict privacy policies and regulatory obligations. Modam cannot force the deletion of tax records retained by Stripe.
- Fraud and Security Logs: Temporary logs preventing abuse, fraud, or chargebacks may be retained while active security investigations or disputes are underway.
4. Irreversibility
Account deletion is a permanent process. Once initiated, you will not be able to log back in to recover order history, messages, or followers. You will need to create an entirely new account if you wish to use Modam again.
