Shipping Policy

Last updated: April 3, 2026

Modam connects artists and collectors. Sellers arrange physical shipment; Modam does not operate a courier service. This policy describes responsibilities and expectations aligned with the Terms of Service.

1. Seller responsibilities

2. Shipping costs

Seller-paid shipping (default model): Unless a listing or checkout screen clearly states otherwise, the artist is responsible for shipping cost and arranges shipment. The listed price is set by the seller and is expected to cover or reflect their shipping economics.

Informal shipping cost examples are not part of this policy. For general guidance only, see in-app Help & Support or other help articles Modam may publish separately from these legal pages.

3. Timeframes (estimates only)

LaneTypical range (not guaranteed)
Domestic (same country)often 3–7 business days after carrier acceptance
International (express)often 7–14 business days
International (economy)often 14–21+ business days

Customs may add time and fees. Buyers are responsible for import duties and taxes unless law or a specific listing says otherwise.

4. Lost or damaged shipments

Modam is not liable for carrier loss or damage. Parties should use tracking and document condition on arrival. If a problem qualifies under the Refund Policy, open a request within the app’s buyer protection window. Eligibility does not depend on whether optional carrier insurance was purchased.

5. International shipping

Restricted goods, cultural property, CITES, and sanctions: Sellers and buyers are responsible for determining whether an artwork or material can lawfully cross a border. Certain items (for example some cultural objects, CITES-listed species in art materials, or shipments subject to trade sanctions or export controls) may be restricted or prohibited. Modam may cancel or halt transactions where policies or law require. Costs of return, storage, or disposal after customs refusal are generally allocated to the party at fault (e.g. inaccurate declaration, prohibited listing, or buyer failure to clear import) per the Refund Policy and Terms of Service. Carrier or customs storage, return freight, and disposal fees tied to a refused or abandoned shipment may, when reasonable and documented, be included in that allocation.
